Dr. Brindha Shivalingam is a neurosurgeon providing care for patients with brain related neurosurgical conditions. Her clinical practice includes the assessment and management of patients with brain tumours, skull base tumours, and other neurosurgical conditions.

She completed her medical degree at the University of Sydney and undertook her early medical training at Royal North Shore Hospital. Dr Shivalingam completed specialist neurosurgical training at several major Australian centres, including Prince of Wales Hospital, St Vincent’s Hospital, and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. She was awarded a Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Neurosurgery.

Following her specialist training, she undertook additional fellowship training in the Cambridge, United Kingdom, with a focus on neuro oncology and skull base surgery.

Dr Shivalingam’s clinical interests include the management of primary and metastatic brain tumours as well as skull base tumours. She is highly specialised in glioma surgery, acoustic neuroma surgery and endoscopic pituitary surgery. She is involved in multidisciplinary care and works with other specialists to support coordinated treatment planning.

Dr Shivalingam also has a vast experience in Glioma research and melanoma research. She is passionate about medical education and training, enabled by her position of Associate Professor at University of Sydney and Chair of the SET Board at the Neurosurgical Society of Australasia.

Dr Shivalingam provides consultations and surgeries for patients with a range of neurosurgical conditions and discusses appropriate management options based on individual clinical need backed by medical evidence.

She practises in Sydney at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, where she is also Head of the Department of Neurosurgery.
